Hazelett, an American company, becomes a member of the EBNER Group, bringing more than a century of continuous casting technology and experience to enrich our know-how.

The EBNER Group is constantly improving its know-how and processes, and at the same time, it is also enriching our experience. If we add up all the companies in the EBNER Group, we have 470 years of experience. Last year, we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the EBNER Taicang plant in China, and this year is the 75th anniversary of the EBNER Industrial Furnaces in Leonding. This year, our GNA celebrates its 40th anniversary, which is a milestone.

As a globally active family-owned technology company, the EBNER Group takes its environmental responsibilities very seriously. Global warming, frequent catastrophic weather events around the world, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and the resulting uncertainty, which has led to skyrocketing prices for gas, oil and electricity, are proof that we have been on the right path for nearly 75 years.

Around one year after the successful handover of the first project phase, Mukand Sumi Special Steel Ltd. has ordered the expansion for the existing HICON/N2® facility for spheroidization of hot rolled steel wire coils. The scope of supply includes one HICON/N2® base, one heating bell and one cooling bell. The shared facilities of the first phase have already been prepared for this expansion.

Today, EBNER Taicang has five companies: EBNER Industrial Furnaces, EBNER Trading, AIT Industrial Furnaces, Gautsch Industrial Equipment and Hazlet Trading. The number of employees is nearly 250, representing six well-known industrial furnace business brands in the field of metal heat treatment.

Hazelett Strip-Casting Corporation of Colchester, Vermont USA has become a member of the EBNER GROUP, headquartered in Leonding, Austria, through the acquisition by EBNER of a majority interest in Hazelett. Mino S.p.A, based in Alessandria, Italy will remain a shareholder along with David Hazelett, who will also remain as both a shareholder and President.

The increasing customer demand for higher coil weights and improved temperature uniformity, combined with the need for the lowest possible operating costs when conducting high-temperature anneals of grain-oriented electrical strip, has lead a well-known American customer to choose EBNER as the supplier of a new high-temperature bell annealer facility.

JSW VTPL produces approximately 200,000 MT of high-value steel products annually, ranging from products like steel ingots, hot-rolled strip and cold-rolled coils to galvanized and black ERW pipe, galvanized plain sheet, galvanized corrugated sheet, color-coated sheet and precision tube. These products are exported to various countries around the world.

In August of 2020, voestalpine STAHL of Linz, Austria placed an order with EBNER Industrieofenbau to install and commission a HICON/H2 bell annealer facility. This facility is designed to heat treat steel strip coils in 100 % hydrogen atmosphere, and is intended for cold rolling mill 2 (Kaltwalzwerk 2).
